Extra-curricular activities...

With school going on in full swing, we decided to enroll the kids up in some more extracurricular activities.  They each got to choose what they wanted to do.  Molly has been asking for a year to do gymnastics... so she's now doing that.  Her teacher is fabulous and she's already getting so confident on the balance beam and bar!  She also started baton twirling this week... another thing she REALLY wanted to do.  I was hoping she sing with the choir, but she really wanted to do baton twirling.  So... let's pray our windows and TV's don't end up with batons flying through them!  No baton twirling photos.. yet.

Garrett also really wanted to do gymnastics (probably because Molly wanted to do it).  He's finally at the age where parents don't have to participate in the class (which is fabulous) and it gets all that jumping/climbing/swinging energy out which is awesome!

And Paige wanted to be a ballerina.  The first time we tried a ballet class, she absolutely melted down and refused to go in. She just had a complete anxiety/shyness attack.  So I told her she didn't have to do it and pulled her from the class.  The following week she begged and begged and begged me to put her back in and promised me "I be a big girl Mommy.  No fits.  I be a ballerina... plleeeaaasse!"  I told her I'd let her have one more chance and when we got there the following week she marched right into class as excited as could be and gave the teacher a big hug.  It's like she's a completely different kid in there now... so confident and joyful!  I love watching it and can't wait for their performance of the Nutcracker in December!
