Our week... the good and the bad...

Well, last week started out good. Steve's mom came for the week to help us out with the kids. Her timing was perfect because I was in terrible need of the assistance. With her help I was able to get out of the house a little bit more. We took a trip to the mall and one to the zoo. She also took part of the night shift and allowed Steve to heal up from his sinus infection. I'm so thankful that he's feeling better now!


We also were able to spend some time with Steve's family up in Roseville. Of course everyone took turns loving on the new babies. But the highlight was little cousin Logan who cuddled with Paige for hours on the couch. It's was way too cute!


Molly enjoyed her opportunity to play with her cousin Brody. He's 7 months younger than her and they have so much fun together!


Unfortunately, a great week was marred by some horrible news. On Saturday, four police officers were shot and killed in Oakland. One of the SWAT officers that was killed was an old school friend of Steve's... Officer Daniel Sakai.


Dan and Steve and two other guys were inseparable friends growing up, and the four of them also just happened to graduate top of their class. Dan's death is a real tragedy and he leaves behind a wife and 4-year old daughter. Please keep them, his parents and brother in your prayers.
