The Color Run

The beginning of this month I ran 5K in the Color Run.  This was a big deal for me because I've never really been a runner, so training for this was a fun goal.  And the Color Run was extra special, because as at every 1-km marker, you run through a color station and get pelted with colored corn starch!  There were around 5000 participants, all starting off with white shirts... clean and ready for coloring!  I ran with five other ladies, which made the experience so much fun!

They have it set up so that you can get as "colored" as you want, and did a great job making sure the volunteers weren't hitting people in the face and such.  And by the end... we were plenty colorful!

At the end of the race, all the participants got a bag of color to throw at a counted-down toss!  Here's part of our team with the color being launched behind us.  So much fun!

Steve brought the kids down to the run to watch me.  That meant a lot, and Molly decided at the end that she wanted to start running with me.  And I'm happy to report that I was able to easily run the entire course... no walking.  Maybe 10 km's is next?
