SoCal Trip - Part 1

We are currently down in Southern California enjoying a trip visiting Steve's Mom and Jim. We have had a busy but WONDERFUL trip so far. The drive down was entertaining, to say the least. Garrett has decided he doesn't nap in the car anymore. And when he's overtired, he talks non-stop. I think he gets that from my side of the family. Anyway, needless to say he talked/screamed/babbled/wailed all the way down here.

We arrived late Friday night, and the next morning we took the twins to see friends of ours who recently moved down here. Kirk and Marianne are from our old Bible Study group, and they now live just 10-15 minutes from Steve's mom. Our friends Paige, Oscar, Suzy and Justin joined us, as they recently also moved down here too. It was a Bible Study reunion and so wonderful to spend time with such amazing people! And while we enjoyed the amazing breakfast Marianne cooked up, Molly enjoyed some great one-on-one with Grandma and Grandpa.


We took 15 minutes at the end of our visit to shoot some 2-year portraits of Winter Jarquin (see here on my photography blog). Love that kid! But then we had to leave to allow our kids to have some much needed afternoon naps. After naps, we celebrated Molly's 4th birthday (again). She was so thrilled with the ice cream cupcakes Grandma picked up from Coldstone Creamery. YUM!


To have a day full of fun with family and friends that have been missed so much was such a blessing. Stay tuned... more to be blogged soon...
