A visit to SoCal...

Last week, our family made an unanticipated visit to Southern California. We received a call that Steve's mom had been admitted to the E.R. with severe gastrointestinal pain. After a day of testing, she was diagnosed with colon cancer and quickly taken into surgery to remove two masses. We felt it would be wise to go down and help as much as we could. Within a week of her surgery she was doing really well and gearing up for chemotherapy. We ask for everyone to please keep her and her family in prayer as she faces treatment. Love you Shirley!

Although the primary purpose of the trip was to help them around the house and to fill their freezer with meals, we were happy to have an excuse to bring the twins to Southern California to meet two grandpas and a grandma they had yet to meet! Here's Steve's step-dad getting some "baby snuggles".

And of course Daddy enjoyed a little extra time with the kids and got a few extra snuggles of his own.

One of the highlights for Molly was meeting Groucho, a neighborhood cat that adopted Steve's mom and step-dad. He was such a friendly kitty and I think it's the first cat that has let her love all over it. Molly declared on the drive back home that Groucho should be called Frenchie instead. Anyone who has read the "Fancy Nancy" books will appreciate that.

You are all in my prayers!

Love the picture of Molly and the kitty - Billie was like that with Maya (actually she still is like that with her).
